Meadowlands
Sports Complex, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is home
to many sport teams. The 700 acre site contains three facilities
that, over the years have been home to many events: Giants Stadium,
Continental Airlines Arena, and Meadowlands Racetrack. The following
is a listing of each facility and which team you can see playing
there.
Giants
Stadium: Tickets
New York Giants and Jets (men's football): Season runs between
September through January and unless you have purchased a ticket
or a season pass in advance, you might be out of luck when it
comes to buying a ticket on your visit. Tickets usually sell one
season in advance. This is the same for the New York Jets.
MetroStars:
Tickets
(men's soccer): the usual season runs between April and October.
Tickets will run between $18 and $36.
Continental
Airlines Arena: Tickets
New Jersey Devils, New Jersey Nets, Seton Hall, Men's Basketball…
Meadowlands
Racetrack: Tickets
Built in 1976, the Racetrack holds scheduled horse racing events.
Tickets run between $1 and $5. But you should bring money if you
feel lucky and want to try your hand at betting on a horse.
Places
to Eat (after a game or show):
There are several eating places within the complex but if you
decide that you would rather go outside there a few places that
are recommended by the Meadowlands organization. For a casual
Italian meal, you can try Jerry's of East Rutherford at 340 Paterson
Avenue. If you want a combination of things to choose from, try
The Grasshopper-Also Restaurant and Bar at 645 Washington Avenue.
Finally, if you want a family restaurant, try Charlie Brown's
Steakhouse at 335 Paterson Plank Road.
