There are
other areas of NYC that basically are known for being in NYC.
These areas have famous stores that just about everyone has heard
of.
Fifth Avenue
between 50th and 59th street
This is the most famous avenue. For its Christmas spirit, for
its art and culture of the museums and also for its shopping.
On this street, you can find such stores as Saks Fifth Avenue,
Tiffany & Co., Fortunoff, FAO Schwarz, Cartier, Harry Winston,
Versace, and Christina Dior. After a long day of shopping on this
famous avenue, take a trip over to the "Red Door". The
Red Door leads to Elizabeth Arden Salon and Spa. It's one of the
top rated places to relax and get a facial at the same time.
Madison Avenue
Also known as Manhattan's Gold Coast, this is NYC's second most
famous avenue. Madison Avenue is known for designer labels like
Nicole Miller and Burberry. This area, recently, has also been
called The Crystal District. Here you can find such crystal sculptures
or crystalware as Baccarat and Lalique. Other stores that you
can find there are Maraolo (shoes), Armani, Barney's, and Versace.
SoHo
The "nickname" for South of Houston, the ¼ of
a square mile has about 250 art galleries and 100 stores. Some
of the stores that you can find there are The Scholastic Store,
D&G, Robert Lee Morris (jewelry), and Canal Jean Company.
One of the most prominent art galleries is Ward-Nasse Gallery.
